This website was created with the goal of joining all the update information pos-sible about the Maned wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus).
The information available on this canid has been increasing during the last years. We want to develop more resear-ches for this unique species in his natural habitat with the purpose of determining what is really happening with the Maned wolf population in his native place, South America.
The number of wild Southamerican canids is decreasing. One of the main reason for this study is the accelerating disappea-rence of their habitat by the" human species".
We should try to safeguard the conservation of this and other species of endangered canids, about which, little information exists.
I'd be grateful if the people who are interested in this work contacted me and contributed with their opinions or knowledge about advances, progresses, new researches or projects on this species in the guestbook.
To carry on this project, we badly need human resources and finantial help. We'd welcome all the organizations interested in colaborating as sponsors in the Maned wolf conservation.
In this website I invite institutions wich have no monetary interest. Researchers, biologists, veterinaries, naturalists, anthropologists, geneticists ,etc are also invited to work in this project. We would like to carry on joint programmes to strengthen the protection of this beatiful, magic and unique animal in his wild habitat.
